Alex Carbone
Alex Carbone began working for the Carbone Auto Group in 1988 as a lot attendant. During his early years, he moved into parts delivery, then on to parts counterman. Alex advanced year over year to sales, advertising, business development and expansion of locations. He was the face of the company for more than a decade, and was appointed General Manager of Carbone Honda. Alex ultimately served as Executive Vice President of Sales for the Carbone Auto Group from 2013 - 2018, until the company was sold.
Alex purchased his first gym, The Fitness Mill in 2017. He founded Carbone Commercial Property LLC, LiveIt Downtown in 2019, a Utica business center and destination site, now home to ten businesses including the newly expanded Fitness Mill. Real estate development projects include Carbone Getaways LLC, a destination vacation property on the island of St. John.
Passionate about serving his community, Alex has served on numerous nonprofit boards including the American Heart Association, Red Cross, American Cancer Society, House of the Good Shepherd, and most recently Kelberman Center. He was honored as businessman of the year by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce in 2022.
In 2023 his autobiography “The Story of Alex Carbone and What it Takes to #LiveIt” was published. His second book is forthcoming in 2025.
He is cofounder and board president of Godwink, a non profit dedicated to developing and providing resources of support, healing and hope for anyone suffering from the debilitating effects of addiction or mental health challenges.
He is a proud father of three daughters, Ava, Angela and Ariana.
